Privacy Policy

What data TrueCut collects None

TrueCut does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. Specifically, TrueCut does not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Location data
• Usage analytics or crash reports sent to a developer server
• Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar)
• Any calculation inputs or results
• Purchase history beyond what Apple provides directly to you
• Cookies or any tracking technology

There is no account to create, no login, and no registration of any kind. You do not need to provide any information to download, trial, or unlock TrueCut.

How TrueCut stores data on your device

All data TrueCut uses to function is stored locally on your device or in your own iCloud account:

• Your calculations and estimates are stored in the app's on-device database (SwiftData). They never leave your device unless you choose to share or export a cut sheet — and that export goes wherever you send it (AirDrop, Messages, etc.), not to any TrueCut server.
• App settings (unit preferences, fraction resolution, code-limit presets, and similar) are stored in the app's shared UserDefaults group on your device.
• Trial start date is stored in three places to prevent accidental loss: the App Store transaction record attached to your Apple ID (via StoreKit 2), your device's secure Keychain, and your iCloud key-value store. This is the only data TrueCut ever writes to iCloud — a single date used solely to calculate how many days remain in your 14-day free trial. No other data is written to iCloud.

iCloud key-value storage is part of your own iCloud account, governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policy. TrueCut cannot read any other app's iCloud data and Apple cannot read your calculation content.

Purchases and payments

All purchases — including the free 14-day trial initiation and the $24.99 Full Unlock — are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. TrueCut never sees your payment details, credit card number, or any billing information. Purchase records are between you and Apple.

Network activity

The app itself makes no network calls. There is no TrueCut server, no analytics endpoint, and no developer-controlled connection of any kind. Two system-mediated Apple services may use the network on TrueCut's behalf: Apple's App Store servers (for the StoreKit purchase flow when you tap "Start free trial" or "Unlock") and Apple's iCloud servers (to sync your trial start date via iCloud key-value storage). Both connections go to Apple — not to TrueCut — and are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

TrueCut works fully offline. On a jobsite with no cell signal, every calculation feature continues to work exactly as it does on Wi-Fi.

Analytics and crash reporting

TrueCut does not include any analytics SDK (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Sentry, and no equivalent). There are no crash reports sent to a developer server. If you experience a crash, you can share the crash log with us via email at the address below if you choose — that is always your choice, and the log goes only to us, not to a third-party service.

Apple's App Store Connect provides aggregated, anonymous download counts and proceeds summaries. These numbers are provided by Apple and are not linked to any individual user.

Notifications

If you start the free trial and grant notification permission when prompted, TrueCut may send up to two local notifications during your trial period: one around day 10 and one around day 13, reminding you of the days remaining and the one-time unlock price. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no server is involved. You can disable trial notifications at any time in Settings → TrueCut or in the TrueCut app under Settings → Trial Reminders.

Children's privacy

TrueCut is a professional construction-calculator tool intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). Because TrueCut collects no personal data at all, there is no special category of children's data to manage.

Third-party services

TrueCut does not integrate any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, analytics services, or social login providers. The only systems TrueCut interacts with are Apple's: the App Store (for purchase processing) and iCloud (to store your trial start date in your own iCloud account). Both are Apple services governed by Apple's privacy policy — we never see any data they handle.

Data retention and deletion

Because TrueCut stores no data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete. Your on-device data (calculations, estimates, settings) can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app. Your iCloud key-value data (the trial start date) can be cleared by removing TrueCut's iCloud access in your device's Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → TrueCut.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at truecut.vendrato.com/privacy with a new effective date. Because TrueCut collects no personal data, a change to this policy would only occur if we add a feature that changes the data picture — and any such change would be described clearly.
